Paul Harris Fellow Recognition

A Paul Harris Fellow is:
"an individual who contributes, or in whose honour or memory is contributed, US$1000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International"
The presentation of Paul Harris Fellow recognition is The Rotary Foundation's way of expressing its appreciation for a substantial contribution to its humanitarian and educational programs. It is named for Paul Harris, the young Chicago lawyer who founded Rotary in 1905. Three emblems of appreciation are given to a Paul Harris Fellow; certificate, medallion, and pin.
It is only because of gifts that The Rotary Foundation can carry out an array of programs that achieve beneficial changes in our world: improved living conditions, increased food production, better education, wider availability of treatment and rehabilitation for the sick and disabled, new channels for the flow of international understanding, and brighter hopes for world peace.
All Rotarians are encouraged to contribute annually to The Rotary Foundation. When an individual's cumulative contributions reach US$1000 the donor is recognized as a PHF. Further contributions are recognized by providing pins with sapphires, one for each additional US$1000 up to 5, and thence with pins with up to 3 rubies.
