Rotary Adventure in Citizenship

Past President Bill Day announces that Halifax Northwest has just received approval to participate in this year's Rotary Adventure in Citizenship Program.

The Program has been sponsored since 1951 by the Rotary Club of Ottawa.   Not all clubs that apply are accepted as the program is limited to 220 high school students from across Canada,  each one sponsored by a different Rotary Club.
 
The program, which will take place from May 3 to May 6, 2009 in Ottawa, is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore our identity, shared values, the implications of the freedoms we all enjoy,  our history of tolerance and the search for compromises to bridge our differences.

Our committee will set up a meeting with the Halifax West School co-ordinator in the near future to get the selection process started.
