Speaker:Dennis Campbell, President – Ambassatours Gray Line. Introduction: Bill Day. ......... Dennis Campbell started his career in the motorcoach tour industry at age of 7 when he realized that “little old ladies have a lot of money”. Dennis later started his own tour company at age 15. He started a tourism publishing company at age 19 and started his own bus company at age 21. Dennis’ marketing initiatives have been published in a number of educational books and University marketing texts. In 1992, Dennis was awarded the BDC’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Nova Scotia and in 1998, Dennis was awarded Atlantic Canada’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year. In 1998 he was named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40. In 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 he was awarded one of the Top 50 CEO’s in Atlantic Canada. His company has 3 times been voted One of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies and one of the top 101 companies in Atlantic Canada. Ambassatours has also been voted as one of the top 10 Best Companies to Work For in Atlantic Canada. In 2007, Dennis was voted the “Metro Halifax Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year”. In 2009 Dennis was inducted into the Atlantic Business Magazine Top 50 CEO Hall of Fame. Ambassatours Gray Line has become the largest tour, shore excursion and charter coach operator in Atlantic Canada with 73 buses. Ambassatours is the “Company with the Kilts” and is the only company in North America with all kilted drivers, guides and convention staff. In 2006 Dennis founded a program in partnership with Children’s Wish Foundation called “Big Buses for Little Kids” kick starting kids dreams making them feel like Rock Stars! This program has expanded to locations around the world. Most recently his team opened a new Saint John office launching a tour program called “The Big Pink Bus Tour” which is a Hop On Hop Off Double Decker Bus Tour which donates a portion of the proceeds from every tour passenger back to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. He has a goal to donate in excess of $1,000,000 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in less than 10 years.
